Egg Substitutes: binders for baked goods
- Flax - To replace two eggs in many recipes, bring 1/2 C Water to a boil and add 1 TBS Flax Meal. Let it sit for a minute. It will get thick and gooey. Cool a bit and add to desired recipe. Good substitute in breads and cookies.
- Applesauce - Applesauce has multiple beneficial uses for baked goods. It is a sweetener, can be used to reduce the amount of oil needed in a recipe, and it is a binder. To use as an egg replacer, substitute 1/2 C for two eggs.
