I am a mom who has amazing friends. One of these amazing ladies came to help me with the kids yesterday. She saw how sick several were and suggested Ginger Tea. Now my kids love honey/lemon water when their throats hurt. It never occurred to me to add ginger.
At one point in pregnancy, I caught the flu. My midwives were all about ginger for its astringency and anti-inflammatory properties. I took baths in it and drank it. Muscle aches melted away. Stomach cramps subsided. It was amazing.
With that experience, I added slices of ginger to honey/lemon water. Cooked it. Gave it to two of the kids.
The one who lost her voice had it back very quickly. The one with stomach cramps could relax. Both girls are greatly improved today. My oldest son didn't have any yesterday. Today he is very not well. Don't you know, my feverish, achy boy is having some as I type. Hopefully it is just what he needs to turn the corner and feel better.
Thank you, my dear friend, Naomi Miriam. Friends like you that share helpful tips are such a blessing.
We should all be well and stay well. And if, heaven forbid, we don't, we now have another thing to assist us along our journey back to health.
