My daughter needs her Boku Superfood, Metagenics UltraCare, and oils to keep her body in balance. She does not use them daily as she once did. Rather, consuming them several times a week has become a reality. I often taste test the smoothies she and/or I make for her. They are quite yummy.
This past month, 3-4 times a week, I decided momma just has to have this delicacy, too. Next thing you know, all but one of my kids are begging for smoothies.
We have a Magic Bullet that we use to make our smoothies. In the past 3 years we have used this kitchen tool so much that we have had to replace it four times! Tip for the journey. If you have a Costco in your area, it is ever so worth getting a membership to one. I paid for the original Magic Bullet and have been able to exchange the ones that stopped working for new ones, time and time again. Their exchange policy has saved us quite a few dollars.
In Na's smoothie blend, we put 3-4 pieces of frozen fruit, a scoop of yogurt, oil (usually Flax Oil), and juice. MNM just has a hey day and we never know what combo will come through her smoothie. SJ loves strawberries, the Ultracare, oil, and orange juice. Yoie loves mango, blueberry, strawberry, orange juice, Boku Superfood, Ultracare, Cranberry concentrate, and oil. Myself, a tropical fruit blend, blueberries, oil, Ultracare, Boku Superfood, and a combination of juices. Each of the smoothies are ever so different from each other. All are filled with wonderful nutrients.
It is fun to see the excitement level rise when it is time to make smoothies. While they are being eaten and for quite a while afterwards, everyone is happy and extra chatty. It is like our bodies start singing and telling us "Thank you" for giving them something that is truly needed and helpful.
I wonder if other people have certain foods that make their bodies sing, too.
Hurray for happy foods. As always, thank You to the One who gave them to us!
