What?! No recipe? How can that be?
But it is true. There is no recipe for some of us. That makes creating this site a challenge for someone like myself.
You see, I grew up with a combination of family using recipes and others using their senses. Having been in the kitchen playing with food since I was a little child, I've gained my family's extra cooking sense. That creates a challenge. A challenge that several friends over the years have encouraged me to rise to: learn to measure and record. They wanted my recipes and using a "pinch of this and a dash of that" method simply does not work for most people.
So here we are today.
And, well, (sheepishly shy smile) my newly posted Apple Crisp recipe had to be converted from a mental pinch and dash to actual numbers. To any who want to try the recipe, know that we didn't add sugar to the apples. We wanted a tart flavor to be offset with the crispy goodness of the oat topping and sweetness of the ice cream. But you may not like it that way. So add a dash less lemon and perhaps a pinch more of sugar. (I wish you could hear the voice inflection in my brain - perhaps one day A and I will learn how to do the videos and then you can hear it for yourself).
The nice thing about most recipes is that most are forgiving and adjustable. You can add or subtract to your taste and make it yours. The ones that are not, like Angel Food Cake, I'll make sure I note that for your sake and note the actually amounts used.
Otherwise, my tip to you, have fun, relax, play with your food, and make the adjustments that make sense to you for the taste you want to create.
There are 3 new recipes: all are desserts. We hope you enjoy them. As always, click on the links below to be directed to them.
