We are discovering foods that we gravitate toward during the summer. Blueberry soup, various lemonades, teas, creative ways to use hard boiled eggs, potato salads, guacamole and chips, wasa crackers and cheese, smoothies, fruit salads, carrot sticks, watermelon, strawberry pie, homemade ice cream and several others. I wonder if any of these would be recipes any of you would be interested in. If so, I hope to make extra effort this week to create recipes for some of these tasty dishes we have been enjoying.
I also learned a helpful tip from a friend who came to visit. When making bread, the quality of the flour used makes all the difference in how the bread turns out. I switched brands as per my friend's suggestion and such a difference it made. It is interesting how something so simple can make such a difference. That made me think, perhaps several of our recipes posted here need for us to write specific brands that we use. So I guess it is back to the kitchen and playing with food and ideas and tweaking recipes we have posted. Taking care of nutritional needs for a family is truly a learning experience and an adventure. There is always something new to learn.
Also, if you like avocados, check out our Facebook page. We shared a lovely chart today that another facebooker posted. We'll see you here or there. Wherever we pass each other, happy cooking and taking care of your family and their nutritional needs. All the best.
