So here are some things I learned from the webinar. Peppermint oil! My husbands FAVORITE oil! He has me massage it into his temples anytime that he feels a headache coming. He doesn't use the oils as much as I do, but he does love peppermint for headaches! And it really does work. He gets them frequently and this always helps keep them at bay. It is antibacterial and antiviral. It is a fever reducer. (I have used to help with this!) It can help with digestive issues. I have used this on my kids as well for stomachaches, though I tend to go to Digestzen more for this.
Citrus oils (ie. lemon, wild orange, grapefruit) I have loved the lemon and wild orange. I have not gotten the grapefruit yet. We use the lemon in homemade cleaning, to difuse in the air to help keep us healthy, and to put into water to help alkalinize the body. I also used a drop in my foster dogs water to help get him healthy and recover from a upper respiratory infection and put into my own dogs water to hep them from getting sick. Worked! I use the wild orange as a mood booster for those days where someone is having a case of the grumpys. It helps and my son will even ask for it. I learned however, that these oils can help to naturaly pull toxins from the body including viruses and bacteria, its a natural antiseptic, and you can rub it on the spine to help with a runny nose! How cool is that? I will definitely be trying that last tip out ;)
On guard, one of my most favorite oils! I use this in cleaning and disinfecting. I also have the kids take a drop of onguard on honey daily to help boost their immune system. This is super especialy during the winter months when everyone is sick! I diffused it in the air when my last foster came to me and was sick with kennel cough and also a upper respiratory infection. I didn't want to get my dogs sick. I LOVE this oil! What I did learn about this oil was that it was clinically proven in a peer reviewed study to kill H1N1 and MRSA.
Breathe! I have loved this oil! I diffuse it when my friends daughter comes over as she is allergic to dogs. It helps her so she doesn't get sick when she comes over. I also have put it on the bottoms of her feet. I used this when my kids were fighting off colds, putting it on their back and on the sides of their nose. I know someone that this has helped with their night time snoring as well. You can diffuse this at bedtime for congestion.
Oregano is a hot oil! Make sure you use a carrier oil with this baby or if you are going to ingest that you put in a capsule. This is a strong antibacterial oil. It is supposed to be good for colds, flu, pneumonia. This is one I have not gotten yet, but it is on my order to get next month and I am super excited about that. I have also read where you can use this to help with warts as well. It also could possibly help with cold sores, skin tags, and moles. You can also use this to cook with but you just have to be careful with it. It does not require much!
Marjoram can help target viral and fungal infections. This is also supposed to be good for shingles. If you combine it with Thyme and Frankincense this could help with a croupy cough. It is also supposed to be great for relaxing muscles. This is one on my to order list :)
Thyme is antimicrobial, antifungal and antiseptic oil. It can help with fatigue, digestion and circulation.
White Fir is supposed to be another great oil. This is another one on my list to get. It is supposed to be helpful for coughs, fever and pain relief. You can diffuse it with frankincense, cypress, marjoram, and thyme for a croupy cough.
