If one of your goals was to start working out, have you found something that you loved? That you are passionate about? That you enjoy? This in itself can be a huge key to success for any workout regiment. This can be anything from walking (yes getting outside and getting into nature can be a powerful an wonderful thing), hiking, biking, or maybe weights or classes or yoga or tennis. What makes you at least a little excited? Or maybe you are like my husband and the answer is none of the above but you know you still need to work out. Find a way to stick to a routine and just get to the gym and do it.
Accountability can also be a huge thing! Is there someone that would want to be your workout partner? this can truly make all the difference in the world. I know for myself. I don't really like running but with friends, I managed to train for a half marathon! Now that is true power. I enjoyed the comradery and friendship while we were jogging. it made it fun. A friend or someone that you know is going to ask if you are coming, that is going to care if you show up. That will text you an ask if you are coming.
now is a good time for assessment. Decide how things are gong for you? Are you happy with where things stand now? or are there things you want to mix up? Do this without judging yourself but just looking at it for what it is.
For myself, I am pretty happy with where my workout regiment is for the time being. I would like to consistently do 2 weight days a week for a month and then add a 3rd. once at 3, that will be good. I also would regularly like to have 2-3 spinning classes per week and 2 yoga classes per week. I am not there yet but by end of year I hope to be. It can be a progression as well, you don't have to do it all at once! Work into it with goals and intentions in mind and you will get there.
