My projects that i really want to take on prior to that though are and have been :
1. getting my kombucha going
2. making water kefir
3. making my own sauerkraut
So i have been pretty good at doing the first 2. Our dr that we work with really wanted the kids to be drinking this stuff (and me) as it really helps with gut issues. So those are going strong. NOW i just need to dive into the world of making sauerkraut. A friend of mine has been making it and i notice a huge difference in how i personally feel when i am eating it and when i am not. I need to just bite the bullet and do it. The kids all really need to be eating it as well. I have been purchasing "Bubbys Sauerkraut" for them but it is kind of expensive so again i just need to "JUST DO IT" So that is my goal for today. Get my sauerkraut going. Maybe this weekend, i can think about menus and recipes and really trying to put life back into some kind of order again! at least a little bit. ;)
Sauerkraut is amazing for the digestive system and helping to balance the flora. The kraut and the kombucha would be good as well if you need probiotics but can not afford them. All the kids though and myself need the extra boost so we need it all..... at least for now. The homemade stuff is amazing. I dont normally like "kraut" but really it is better that what the mind might conjure up.
If i do manage to make up some menu plans and recipes i will try to post that up here. I know i struggle with menu plans when i am in busy and stressed times.
