This summer I am going to be attempting to do a high raw vegan diet again for the summer. My husband has had some health challenges (of course he doesn't eat the way I do anyway and eats out a lot) but hopefully the extra bump of raw food goodness will help him out. I have resumed juicing and green smoothies and am totally loving it!!! There is nothing like fresh vegetable juice and green smoothies to make your body feel alive. The kids are a little less than excited about the juice but it is good for them and they drink it.
I have been recovering from my injuries I sustained in my car accident and after 1 1/2 years off from teaching I am contemplating going back to teaching group fitness classes! Honestly when I quit I thought that was the end of my teaching career that my body was finished. I am so happy to see that after some time and with healing raw foods and vitamins. It is recovering. I am back participating in many of my favorite classes again and my goal is to try to pick up some teaching classes by the end of summer. I have a couple of clubs that are really interested and told me they can't wait for me to audition. I used to teach 25 to 30 classes per week. Yes! This is A LOT. Most people who teach fitness generally do max 10 to 12. I required a lot and asked a lot from my body. The accident set it over the edge. It is amazing what your body can do as long as you are taking care of it. The prospect of teaching again thrills me beyond words. I have missed it greatly. I love interacting and helping people. I want to give my body the summer though to hopefully gain a little more strength and to give me some time to practice so when I audtion i feel fully ready. Also I will have to go back and recertify for many of the programs I was teaching (RPM, Body pump, Zumba) since I had stopped and have not been getting their releases and music. Most likely since I really dont want more than 5 classes per week I will need to pick the ones I want to do.
It never ceases to amaze me the miraculous healing powers of our bodies if we do the right things for them. I am definitely jazzed and inspired to up my level again and see what changes happen for everyone here around the house (as soon as I can get through this semester and have a moment to stop and think and also time to prepare foods)
Until then ..... :)
